house party
My house at the pines threw a big pre-pines party on Saturday. I spent an hour chopping up tomatoes, lettuces, limes and lemons for the burgers and cocktails. Hundreds showed up. It's kinda of surreal to have so many strangers prancing around the house. I guess while its kinda cool to be able to say you stayed in such a nice house on the island and threw such a big fabulous party, i can't help but wonder if its worth all the stress, trouble and money. After all, this is New York! If you are really really smart and cool, you should just get invited to parties and save yourself the hassle of ever having to throw one. Who would even remember? oyster bay
Dragging a gigantic luggage filled with tomatoes and lettuce for 100 guests for our pre-pines house party, i 'managed' to hop onto the wrong train conveniently which takes me all the way to the north tip of long island to a community known as Oyster Bay! Yes, no time for any oysters though and my cab ride back to Sayville cost me 100 bucks!

midtown rush
It is actually pretty refreshing to get a break from the daily office work routine. Since i am still in the process of getting a lease in place for my new job, i get to work from home a lot more. Half of my time these days is spent running from one place to another in midtown east. Meetings with lawyers, administrators, auditors, technology providers, building managements, real estate brokers, bankers, prime brokers........Setting up a new business is far from easy, but i am so lucky to even get a chance to do it. There is so much to learn, and i am psyched about my new launch and driven to prove that youth and talent is all you need, plus a ton of luck of course as well! Good luck!

coney island
First time hanging out at Coney Island in summer! Pleasantly surprised at the interesting mix of true blue Brooklynites and bohemianites. Love the no-frills no-fuss atmosphere in the air. I should have discover this gem much earlier!
dusk at the pines
I escaped the intense army of posy boys at low tea to admire dusk at the pines harbor. I invited someone over to the house this weekend. In a way, you can say that it is my last straw to salvage a relationship. Yet, i realize that the more i attempt to give or fight reality, reality bites me harder, the answer becomes strikingly more obvious. If someone is not ready, how can he be the one? How long can i wait? Why bother to fight?
Sunset is so beautiful and calming at the pines bay. Boats are decked by the harbor and Mariah's 'Love Takes Time to Heal' is playing at the background from someone's yacht. I feel relaxed, yet with a tint of frustration. I have done all i could.......and really i should not be so hard on myself.

summer heat
While all these mingling and brainless casual socializing is fun and nice, i realize what truly draws me to the island is really the nature getaway. A long jog early morning on the beach is probably the most mind blowing thing i have done in a while. No ipod, just the music of the Atlantic ocean waves. No late nights out or excessive alcohol, just exercising and lounging by the pool. This is my current state of mind. Healthy and low key. And i absolutely love it!

warm up
Second year going to PS1 warm up. I love people watching the artsy crowd that turn up. There is always something about the chill laid back look that i feel very comfortable around.
111 fourth
I realized how tough it can be to buy a piece of property in Manhattan, especially when you are doing it alone and not a millionaire. While browsing through the Corcoran listings, i felt in love with 111 fourth in Greenwich Village. Floor to ceiling iron cast windows all over, city views, high ceilings, hip location, additional loft workspace...I can barely afford it and it is already in contract when i called the broker. I am not surprised because this is a real gem with so much potential! Pity, cos i am already fantasizing on how i am going to do the space up and how it will look like when it is done.
Well, its good to get motivated to do this. I hope i will find my dream apartment soon! Though i must say the prices are really really crazy! Should i be doing this?

east river
The east river is all calm before the July 4th fireworks. This is actually my first time admiring this view from the FDR drive. Yes, i lean towards the west side of the city more than the east!
