A slight dinner venue miscommunication with Abby had me rushing from the a la mode Meatpacking district to the chi chi Alphabet City. Despite the urban gentrification, I realized i was hopelessly still trying to seize a moment of their modest historic past, imagining what they would have been 20 years ago....
